Foodie or Not, you'll love eating like a local!!!


Well it is no secret New Orleans is home to good food! But good food does not stop at the city limits, the entire region thrives with great eateries.

Chef John Besh, native Slidellian and labeled as “Top 10 Best New Chefs in America” by Food & Wine Magazine, is owner of La Provence, complete with antiques from Provence and surrounded by acres of herb & vegetable gardens and farm fresh food!! Chef Besh takes you on a tour of the farm (you tube video) Also catch him on the Food Network and NBC's Today Show as well as featured columns in Bon Appetit, Food and Wine and in the New York Times.

Guy Fieri of the Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives recently stopped by a couple of local Diners for a bite. He was so impressed, they added them to their 2011 line up. Mike Murray of LA Pines Cafe whipped up a batch of his famous seafood gumbo and prime rib po-boy. Air date for LA Pines segment is Feb. 7, 8:00pm CST
